We are so excited to announce that past SONG Board We are so excited to announce that past SONG Board Chair, Miles Bowman, will be joining us in the new role of Executive Director!
👏👏👏🤩

Miles Bowman grew up with - and was shaped by - community music. Starting in elementary school he sang in ensemble choirs, played organ and keyboard and took part in marching and ensemble bands. These formative opportunities led to touring, competing, and performances from local parades to Chateau Lake Louise. Music continued to allow creative expression in his adult life when he was in a band while completing his doctorate in Neuroscience. This work helped Miles to understand the importance of music to brain development, emotional regulation and long term health. Collectively, these experiences informed Miles' love of community-building, refining skills through practice, and celebrating local talent. Miles is thrilled to be working with SONG and finding ways of bringing these same musical opportunities to kids in Port Hope and Cobourg.

We can't wait to work with Miles as he continues to support SONG programming, students and our community. Welcome aboard in this new role!

Inspired by the MacMaster Leahy family's video of the same song from 2020, this collaborative video project was filmed across multiple locations over 4 weeks. Hope you enjoy this fun new holiday tune!

Lyrics and Music by Robyn Cunningham

Natalie, Donnell, their band, and our SONG soloists (Margo, Stella, and Sophia) recorded the bed tracks at The Capitol Theater in Port Hope while visiting for their concert. Our strings students and our Primary and Junior choirs in Port Hope and Cobourg then recorded their own parts.

Thanks to our friend Matt Azzarello for video capture and editing and to our Artistic Director Lucas Marchand for audio capture and editing. Also thanks to our classroom instructors Shannon Linton, Marie Anderson, and Dave Shewchuk for their leadership and preparation.
