SONG Receives 100 Women Who Care Grant for 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SONG Receives Generous Grant from 100 Women Who Care Northumberland

Northumberland County, ON – November 26, 2024

Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG) is thrilled to announce that we have received a generous grant of $6,038 from 100 Women Who Care in Northumberland. This funding will directly support our mission to provide free, high-quality music education to children and youth in our community, helping them connect with themselves and each other through the power of music.

With this support, SONG continues to expand its reach, now serving 149 weekly students in our signature programs and an additional 120 new students through our newly launched In-School initiatives. This growth reflects our deep commitment to making music accessible to every child, no matter their circumstances.

This grant holds a particularly special place in SONG’s history. SONG was honoured to be the very first recipient of support from 100 Women when the organization began. This renewed partnership reaffirms the incredible care and belief that women across Northumberland have shown for SONG and our mission.

“100 Women With Heart embodies what makes Northumberland so special,” says Miles Bowman, Executive Director of SONG. “This grant represents not just funding, but a commitment to lifting each other up and creating lasting connections. These women know that music builds community, and their support helps us continue to inspire what the next generation of leaders will sound like, through SONG.”

Beyond its impact on our programs, this grant highlights the incredible spirit of collaboration that defines Northumberland. The ongoing support of organizations like 100 Women With Heart demonstrates a shared belief in fostering strong, interconnected communities. Together, we are shaping a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive and make meaningful connections through music.

SONG extends its deepest gratitude to 100 Women who care in Northumberland for their generosity and unwavering support. With their help, we will continue to use music as a tool for positive change, ensuring that kids across our county can find their voice, feel good, and build relationships that last a lifetime.
