Donate by December 24th to have your dollars doubled
Music changes lives. It helps us find our courage, our voice, and our place in the world. At SONG we believe everyone deserves to have music in their lives, but unfortunately that’s not the reality. With your help, we are changing that.
“SONG helps me be me”
“SONG makes me proud of myself”
“SONG is so much fun and I have made lots of new friends”
Recent education cuts have reduced arts programming in our county so that fewer students get access to important enriching experiences. Our community needs to rally together to continue to provide necessary and high-impact alternatives — we need to sing louder about SONG!
Ensemble music, in particular, has been shown by Canadian researchers to increase students’ academic scores across English, Math and Science, and improve social skills and self-confidence (regardless of age, gender and socio-economic background).
The music we teach our SONG students is the high-impact solution we need, and your gift of music education has never mattered more.
HERE’S HOW SONG CHANGES LIVES – ONE REHEARSAL AT A TIME!
SONG – now in its 7th season – is expanding. We continue to offer ensemble choral and string music education to children and youth in Northumberland County. But this year we are including more children, more youth in grades 7-9, and even students in high school!
Your gift provides high-level music education that builds skills like self-regulation, resilience, and perseverance. Our students get to be part of a community that gives back through public performances that increase their self-confidence and build courage all while engaged in joyful music-making.
And we are delighted to announce that a Matching Gift has been donated once again this year. Our anonymous Guardian Angel is challenging us all to give from the heart, and will match every dollar donated until midnight December 24th – up to $6,000!
Every gift helps a child or youth in SONG find their courage, their voice, and their place in the world. Please help us change lives, one rehearsal at a time.
