SONG started its seventh season on September 16th with a bang! We are growing!
Sounds of the Next Generation’s (SONG) is expanding our ensemble music education program to reach even more children and youth in Northumberland County, who may not otherwise have access to the joy of music.
SONG will now include students in Grades 7-9 in our inaugural Senior Choir and Strings as they transition to high school. Through this innovative outreach initiative, SONG will have the opportunity to provide more young people, with high-quality music education and opportunities for positive social development. Senior students will be able to:
- rehearse up to 4 times a week after-school in Cobourg and Port Hope with our fabulous professional choral and string instructors
- mentor younger students (over 80 students in grades 1-6
- learn and perform with SONG’s adult mentoring choir – Safe Harbour
As always, all music instruction, all instruments, music, transportation and healthy snacks are provided free of charge to all students.
We are continuously thankful to all our donors that help us to grow and expand each year to serve more children.
With deepest gratitude,
President and Board chair
